Chronic Eye Disease

Chronic eye diseases are eye conditions that are persistent and longlasting in their effects. They can last years and often require ongoing management.

Some eye conditions are related to general diseases, such as diabetes, hypertension, and HIV infections. Some are diseases affecting only the eye, such as glaucoma or macular degeneration. Some are related to medications, such as Plaquenil or Cortisone, that are taken for other conditions, but can have side effect to the eyes.

A big part of managing these conditions is regular monitoring with appropriate testing procedures, and timely intervention when required.
